Winchester Castle cm Bth, January foi* South Africa and thence to Australia, There is a difficulty in fixing a definite date, due to Conservative pressure for immediate action to protect British agriculture and certain foodstuffs, the Government will introduce a fifteen per cent, on home grown wheal ‘‘almost immediately,” but is strongly averse to legislating in the direction of fixing Dominions wheat quota or protecting other foodstuffs until Mr Thomas has consulted the Meantime, Mr Thomas must remain until the British agriculture policy is settled.
