PLEA OF GUILTY
THEFT OF POSTAL PACKETS.

WELLINGTON, November 25
Pleading guilty to breaking and entering tbe ishop of H. M. McGirr and stealing goods valued at £lO 8s 6d, stealing 220 postal packets and letters from Te Aro post office and to attempting 'to steal money and stamps of a value of £2, the property of the Postmaster Gtneral, Henry Balfour Burden, 22, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. A detective stated the mail contained cheques of a value of £3,000. None were negotiable. About six were not recovered and the accused said those had been burnt. The greater part of the mail was recovered.
