FALSE INCOME TAX RETURNS. i —— A DEFICIENCY OF £6736 SHOWN. (By Telegraph — Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. A deficiency of £6736 was shown in the income tax returns, for a period of four years, forwarded by Joseph P. Goulding, part proprietor of His Lordship’s Hotel. He was fined £SO on each of four charges, a total of £2OO by the' Magistrate, Mr Lawry to-day. Two sisters of defendant were each fined £2. The charges were those of wilfully making false returns. The Crown Prosecutor said that the yearly jxrofits ranged from £2,200 to £5,140. 5
