SWIMMING
THE HOKITIKA CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Hokitika Swimming Club -was held act evening when the president (Mr ),l. Hons ton snr.) presided. A letter was received from Mr S. W. Peterson offering a solution of hypo-chloride for use in the baths. The secretary stated that five -pounds had been ordered, and had been used in the water. Mr R. Lynn reported on the arrangements already made in connection with the benefit concert, and officials were appointed for the occasion. On the motion of Messrs Lynn and Houston, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr D. Stevenson for his assistance to the Club. Messrs A Parkhill, M. McGavfn, ind M. Bergamini were elected, members. It was decided that the committee at its next meeting finalise the condiions governing the competition for the Stopforth Cup. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs Butler for donations to Me Club. It was decided that members should assist M Lynn with 'the stage decorations for the forthcoming concert. Miss Thwaites advised that fourteen of her pupils would be coming from Gr-' mouth while with the assistance cT her local pupils and local Kjrtipts a coital cntertajnnment would he preseo ted.
