BOXING CLUB
The Boxiilg Club met Monday evening with the following present: F. McGregor (chair), :R. Furness, fe. Collett. B,- Bell,. J. Johnson, 0. Hahn, M. ; MeGav’n, j, Atkinson, J. Stafford and Secretary. Apology for F, Ballinger. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Swimming Baths Committee advised granting the Club use of the Baths for Boxing Night. Mr Cohett moved and B. Furness seconded that an open tourney be held on Boxing Night, the first bout to start 7 p.m. Carried. Mr J. Stafford moved that a 6 round special bout be held between Geo. Freitas, Hokitika, and H. Hawes of ZVestpont. 'Seconded by 0. Hahn and carried. Mr J. Stafford moved that Howson and Moore be matched .in a 6 round welter bout. Seconded by J. Atkinson and carried. The president, Mr McGregor, moved that an invitation be forwarded to Dr Hai’t to accept the vacancy left by Dr Hayes and advised the members that the Doctor was a boxer and wrestler of no mean ability. Seconded by J. Stafford and carried.
