FALSE PRETENCES

CHRISTCHURCH, November 24
■ William Biddolt’s Blackwood, 67, described as a draper was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment by Magistrate Mosley for obtaining £lO by Fraud, and also a steamer ticket valued at £’4l, from Fate Bates by falsely representing that r he was a brother of the Marquis of 'Dufferin and .had an interest in big estates.
