There is yet no claimant for the reward of £IOO offered by the police for information leading to the arrest J of the person who faitally attacked Mr Arthur James Blomfield, the ; chemist, j who was murdered in, his shop in Wellesley Street East, on i.ihe afternoon of Friday, October 30. Hf there is. more than one claimant for the rewar,d the amount will be -apportioned, i. • - I Detectives are still making 'every endeavour to trace a man who was known to have been loitering in Queen Street at the corner of Wellesley Street on the day of ithe crime, and who it is thought may be able to throw some light on the mystery. This man is between 20 and 23 years old, abouit oil. 9dn. in height, with dark eyes, whloh may be x brown, . and short, dark, uneven hair which' is wavy rather than curly. The man has a small face and fresh complexion. He was wearing a navy-blue coat and dark vest and trousers which are .thought to be brown. It is not known whether he was wearing collar or tie.-He speaks in a quiet voice, with a' colonial accent, and is well-spoken.
As the case is a most difficlwt one for the investigators, it is possible that a gfweat deal wilS .depend on relevant ,
facts which can be given (the rHice by members of the public. The nolice appeal to member® of the public knowing of any man answering the twv scription given who has cb'snnpeared from bis lodgings or usual haunts *o give them the information.
