DRY LAW COSTS

FOR ENFORCEMENT IN U.S.A.. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, November 12. The United States Prohibition . Bureau for the fiscal year ending 3()Ui June last, expended an average of 125 dollars per case in the prosecution ot 62,902 cases of violation of the prohibition law, or 7,862,750 dollars, this not including the funds expended by the Department of Justice and the other Federal and State agencies in the enforcement of prohibition. The Prohibition Bureau spent a total of 9,416,000 dollars, of which 4,138,000 dollars were collected in fines.

Property to the value of 1,287,000 dollars was seized.
