“MAKE HASTE SLOWLY.” New Zealand’s motto for the next ten years must be, “Make Haste Slowly” (Festina; Lente), said the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, in an address to farmers at the Ashburton Show last week. His Excellency added: “I have seen, in this very English prrvince of Canterbury, farm land, stock and produce that will bear comparison with the best in Great Britain. Bearing in mind that there can be no overproduction or excess supply of the best, every effort- should he made to raise the general standard of farming to the highest passible level.
