BOXING
THE HOKITIKA CLUB. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11th. A meeting of the Hokitika Boxing Club, was held, when there were present I Messrs F. 'McGregor (Chairman), J. Stafford, 0. Hahn, R. Collett, ,\I. McGavin, IJ. Atkinson, R. Bell, J. Johnson, R. i Furness, 1). Breeze and 'Secretary. | Following discussion, the Balance Sheet, submitted by the Art Union Seclecaiy, was received on the motion of Messrs Collett and Stafford. Mr McGavin moved that a letter of , f thanks ue forwarded to Mr Dowell for his assistance through' the Art Union to the Club's funds. The motion was seconded by Mr McGregor and carried. The Secretary was instructed to make application to the Baths’ 'Committee for the baths for Boxing Night. Mr Breeze was authorised to erect a suitable shelter for the Club's timber in the baths enclosure as arranged with the Baths’ Committee. It was decided to meet again on Monday evening, and the Secretary was instructed to communicate with Hawes of •Westport for a bout with Geo. Freitas, and Mr Furness to report on a local competitor.
