'Soljak, M.A., of Auckland University. He is taking for his subject “English as a World Language.” The 2YA studio programme will be given. by Singing Circle of the Pioneer Club in conjunction with the 'Salon, Orchestra. There will be numerous choral numbers. The soloists for the evening will be Mr F. E. Gooder (baritone). Mr Edgar Swain (tenor), Miss Ella Fair (soprano), Mrs Downer (mezzosoprano), hnd Mrs A. S. Mitchell (mezzocontralto). .The instrumental programme will be provided by the Salon Orchestra. A public concert by the Coloratura soprano, Margherita Zelanda, assisted by 3YA Studio Orchestra, under Mr Harold ■Beck, will be broadcast by 3YA. A session of old time dances by Peter Bryson’s Band will follow. 4YA’s programme will.be provided by the St. Hilda IBand and assisting artists who will be: 'Miss' Clarice Weir (soprano), Miss Ldcy G. James (conti'alto), Mr F. E. Woods (bass), Mr Arigus <lorrie (humorist), and Mrs C v „; Drake (pianiste). The whole programme will be of a? popular nature. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11th. Tile IYA studio programme this' evening is in the hands of the Auckland ; Orphans’ Club and items will be given by the Orchestra, under the direction of Mr Harmed Baxter. There will be baritone solos by Orphan E. Churchliouse, and elocutionary items by Orphan J. W. Bailey. As usual, a very fine programme has been arranged. . Margherita Zelanda’s second concert, in whjch she will be assisted by Miss Marjorie ’ Alexander, talented pianiste, and the Studio Orchestra, will be broadcast by 3YA‘. i Dr Guy H. Scholefield, 0.8. E. will be the speaker on 2YA’s International Programme. From the Dunedin Town Hall, 4YA will reray a meeting held in support of disarmament. Mr Frank Milner, C.M. (>,, wjll be the principal speaker.
