LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. SEVERAL BILLS PUT THROUGH. <By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 7. In the. Legislative Council yesterday, the Broadcasting Bill was put through ah- its stages .and was passed by the House of Representatives. The Chattels Transfer Amendment Bill was put through the remaining stages and passed. THE HOUSE. Moving the second reading of the Land jLaws Amendment Bill, Hon. R. A. Ransom said it was designed to render, ■in greater measure, assistance to Crown Tenants who, under the existing economic difficulties, found themselves in need for such help. The Bill not only made provision for postponement of rent and interest, but also enabled tenures, which had been entered into during the last few years, to he reconsidered. It was proposed to set up a special committee to act in conjunction with Land Boards, and inquire into conditions of tenants. The Bind was passed. The Education Reserves Amendment Bill, giving -siinTar facilities to tenants, afforded under the Land Law Amendment Bdl, w.as also passed. The Imprest Supply Bill, providing for monthly allocations totalling £1,581,000 was put through ali : stages and passed. The .House rose at 12.5 a.m.
