NATIVE MASSACRE

IN NEW GUINEA.

CANBERRA, November 6

The Lieutenant Governor of Papua has sent a radio message to the Prime Minister, Mr J. H. Scullin, reporting that a massacre has been carried out by natives in the Ely River district, the cause of which is being investigated by the Resident Magistrate, Mr Woodward, who declares that the Ely River Natives are treacherous headhunters, and that probably they' are short of tobacco and other articles.
