COST OF SECONDARY EDUCATION
The proportion of pupils attending (secondary schools in the Dominion, who pay fees is less than 2$ per cent., according to a return presented in the House. The 'return leferrecl.to those pupils attending secondary schools and secondary departments of district high schools, and the proportion of those obtaining secondary education in who paid fees was given as 2.32 out of every 100. It also stated, that the fees paid in that year totalled £6300, and that the cost of secondary education for the year ended March 31st., 1931, was £399,229, exclusive 0 f Hie cost of new buildings, equipment, furniture, and sites. ■' —Parliamentary paper.
