DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY [United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.! WASHINGTON, November 3.- ~ The Democratic Party won three of the five Congressional elections held on Tuesday and then advanced to a majority of one in the United States House of Representatives. The Republican Party won the oilier two seats. The standing of the parties in the new House now is; Democrats _ ___ 217 Republicans ... 215 Farmer Labour 1 Vacancies 2 The Democrats won a Farmer Republican stronghold in eight Michigan districts. The Democrats have also attained a big lead in the gubernatorial race in New Jersey, and they are expecting victory for the New Jersey Governorship. WASHINGTON, November 3. The elections to the U.S.A. 'House of Representatives (previously cabled), were necessitated by vacancies caused by the deaths of sitting members. A further election is to bo held in New Jersey on December Ist. It will probably add one more to the Republican total.

ALL POSTS CARRIED. NEW YORK, November 4. In the New York City elections, the Mayoralty is not being contested. ■ Tammany Hall has also placed its candidates in the lesser posts with record majorities, despite City scan da i investigations, etcetera. Tammany Hall has hailed the results as the expression of great public confidence in the office-holders. Investigations of the same office holders as heretofore, which will continue, produce daily more astounding allegations of graft.
