SYDNEY BUSES STOP
CANNOT COMPETE WITH PUBLIC SERVICES. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, November 1. Four hundred and forty motor buses which have been competing with the trains and the trains in the Sydney Metropolitan area will cease running at midnight tonight (Saturday), m consequence of the recent legislation under which a heavy passenger toll was imposed on the omnibuses competing with the .Government transportation systems; but those buses acting as feeders will escape the levy. At least two thousand five hundred employees will be rendered idle. Public indignation is at fire heat.
