OCTOBER 31st., 1931.: • Messrs Haleam and Brown, two ‘ prominent members of th© Melbourne Ski Club, accompanied by the, well known Franz Josef Glacier guidfe— Jack Cox and, Jo© Fluerty, made an interesting crossing of Souther-' land Alps, on the 28th. inst, • The party left the Glacier Hotel at’ frbe Franz Josef on the 2oth. and after 1 spending two delightful days ski-ing from the Aimer Hut, the party set out to cross the dev id©', using skis >to the summit of Graham’s Saddle. ; Our Melbourne visitors were greatly impressed with the ski-dng facilities obtainable on th© Franz Josef from the Aimer Hut and were bdth lath |to leave it, but did so with the intention of returning again at the first possible moment. _ After taking in the wonderful vrew obtainable from the summit of the Pass, the partv descended on the eastern side and followed the route down to the Ball Hitt dnd thence on to ffhe Hermjtagie. Guide Cox and Fluerty returning to AVaiho the following day.
