SUGAR CANE BORER
INSECT ENEMIES. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) MONTREAL, October 28. An army of Canadian flies is speeding across Canada en route to Australia, where they will battle against the sugar cane borer on the Queensland plantations. Of an unpronounceable scientific name these flies have, been carefully reared by the Canadian Government’s entomologists. The in_ sects are the sworn enemies of th e common wlirte grub, which damages the potatoes, vegetables, and small fruits of this Dominion.
