ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report;— The usual fortnightly, sale of fat stock was held at the above yards on Wednesday, our entry consisting of 26 head of fat cattle which were submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Prices were on a par with those of the previous sale, ox beef averaging 30s per hundred, and light heifer beef up to 325, We sold as follows :—On account of F. G. Williams and Sons 2 bullocks at £9 2s 6d, 2 at £9 ss, 3 heifers at £7 7a 6d, 1 bullock at £ll, 2 at £9 7s 6d, 2 at £8 7s 6d, 2 at £9 10s, .2 at £8 7s 6d, 3 heifers ati £7 2s 6d, 1 bullock at £8 15a, 2 at £9, 2at £9 7s 6d, 1 at £8 10s, 1 at £lO, WATAROA SALE. DROP IN PRICES. The Spring fixture at the above yards was held yesterday when 319 head of cattle and 50 fat sheep were penned. The outstanding feature of ithe day was the sharp drop in prices of all kinds of store cattle. While it amounted in some cases to as much as £2 10s per head the average over the day’s sale would be easily £2. The general depression and the fact that the cattle were very much below previous years’ condition and quality contributed to this result.

The small yarding of sheep sold well. W. Jeffries and Co.’s entry comprised 76 head and the following soles were made. For Harris Bros. 6 heifers at £5 17s 6d, 7 ditto at £4, 8 steers at £5 10s. For N. Friend 16 steers at £ll, 4 ditto at £lO ss. For D. Stock 25 mixed colour steers at £5 17s 6d.
