UNUSUAL SUICIDE
FOLLOWED BY INCINERATION. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) MASTERTON, October 29. A mailman, on arriving at Longbush to-day, found a letter addressed to him, which stated the writer was going to make a heap of some logs in a paddock, saturate them with kerosent, set ? fire to , them, and shot himself on the top. The recipient went to the spot indicated, and he found the charred remains of a man’s body. The was Richard Monteroy Harcourt, a gardener, aged about 65 years. As far as is known, he was ■single, without relatives. He was employed by Peter McLaren, who left in the morning when deceased was in his usual good spirits and State ot health.
