Trainer J, Murphy is concerned at the condition of Prince Dayton, but there is every hope he will run in the Cup. A. Knox rides Rermin in the Cantala Stakes
Acceptors for the Hotliam Handicap include—Second Wind, Carry On, St. Mary. Mads tar. Aleman and White Nose. Flying Dave has accepted for both the Derby and Cantala, Stakes. The decision as to which races he will run in' will be made on Saturday. MELBOURNE CUP. MELBOURNE, October 28. A Melbourne Cup scratching is that of Dark Man, who has broken down. A special watchman has arrived from Sydney for Veilmond and Concentrate. Mr Mackinnon, chairman of the A .R.C., says that Phar Lap will be unhurt if lie starts in the Cup. Koda Pen. a hot favourite, won the Maiden Plate at Kvneton.
