The Otago Cricket Association has decided to oppose the suggested amendment to the Plunket Shield rules by which umpires would be appointed by agreement between the competing associations and any association would have the right to nominate a particular umpire.

Regarding the laws of the game, the association resolved to advise tire council that among the laws which it had been asked to approve was one v *Jcli was held by the Australian authorities to he no law at all.
