CAR TRAGEDY

Disaster befel a St, John Ainbulancu when proceeding from Auckland to Hunua to collect a patient who was to be brought to the city. The ambulance wuh three) miles from Papnkui'a, when it fell over a bunk and dropped 30 feet, and then rolled CO feet, Superintendent A, \V. Potter, of the St. John’s Association, was killed outright. The driver of the ambulance, Peter Hatton, received cuts ou the head but his condition is not serious. CARS COLLIDE. OPITIKI. October 27. A motor accident occurred when F. Walsh, his wife and daughter, of Onehungn, collided with a car driven by H. Collier, of Kutarere, near Kukumoa Hill. Walsh’s car tipped and was thrown into a drain in five feet of water. Airs Walsh was badly cut on the eye and received concussion. A 1 iss Walsh was badly cut on the head and is in hospital. Four passengers in the other car, and Walsh, received shock and bruises. Botli cars were extensively damaged.
