DRIVER KILLED
LORRY FALLS INTO RIVER. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) NELSON. October 28. William Henry Wise, a motor lorry driver, of Alotuekn was killed at Polio, roro yesterday afternoon. Deceased was crossing the Pokororo swing bridge over the Motueka River, when the cross beams of the bridge broke away and the lorry fell bodily twenty feet into four feet of water. Deceased was pinned against the seat. Respiratory measures failed . It was found that deceased sustained severe head injuries.
