EFFECT OF NEW REGULATIONS. (Australian Press Association.) (SYDNEY, October 25. The Transport Trust’s invoking of the powers of recent legislation has "bombshelled" the motor-bus interests, who gave > notice to 4000 employees, drivers, conductors,--'; garage workers, ' and office .staffsthat ' thifv' would notbe re pi 1t ed afte^- October?' 3lst . This i$ the result of : the regulations under which bus licenses' shaJJ .include a pro, vision for payment‘'■•to the Government? of one penny per section ,fpi* adult v fare, and in the case of a child, the bus would receive nothing. If the Metropolitan bus services stop as threatened, a large portion- of the population will be inconvenienced. The buses at present are carrying 100,000,000 passengers annually, and the companies distribute £1,125,000 in wages and material. The Federal Government also would lose £150,000 per annum in petrol’ tax on the consumption of. over 600,000 buses. ’ : ; ' ' 1 v- ■
