MAN DIES
AFTER BEING KNOCKED DOWN, t (By Telegraph—Per Press Association} WELLINGTON. October 20. Late on Saturday afternoon, a man was found lying unconscious in Abel Smith Street, outside the Royal Tiger Hotel. He had been knocked down, apparently bv some unknown person with whom he had quarrelled. He was suffering from head injuries, na the result of his head striking the pavement, and he was taken almost immediately to the Wellington Hospital, where he died at 5.45 to-dav, with. ■ out regaining consciousness. The police had been making inquiries ever since Saturday , for the man who struck the supposed blow, but up to this evening, had not been successful. The name of the dead man is Percy William Childs, of No. 5 Crosby Terrace. He was a carried. No one lias so far been found who was actually an eyewitness of the accident. A , man was questioned at the Mount Cook Police Station on Saturday evening, but he was allowed to go.
