N.Z. BROADCASTING
WHAT WILL CABINET DECIDE? (By Telegraph, — Pei-Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 17. An announcement * that the Government would probably reach a decision on the question of broadcasting control over the week-end was made by the Postmaster-General, Air Hamilton, when replying to a deputation this morning, consisting of Dr. P. W. -Robertson -(director of the W.E.A.), and Professor W. W. Robertson (Chemistry Professor at Victoria College), who represented education and Cultural aspects in regard to broadcasting. Mr Hamilton said that the Government fuily realised the possibilities of broadcasting. What it had to decide was whether broadcasting was to be controlled by a company or by the Government-appointed board, and it was just a question whether a company could provide a better board ol management than the State. He did not want to express his personal op nion at that stage, 'as he anticipated that the Cabinet would reach a decision over the week-end. He could assure the deputation that all aspects of the matter would be very carefully considered before a decision was reached.
