BIVOUAC TRAINING
FOR DEFENCE FORCES. (By Teleyraph—Per Press Association) {WELLINGTON, October 16. As jui outcome of the financial economies that the Government lias bene obliged to impose on various departments of the State, it has been found necessary to suspend the annual training. camps of the Defence Department. Tt is stated that by careful husbanding of tlie money available, sliowever, a scheme of bivouac training without pay will be possible during the present training year.. Quarters, rations, cooking and fuel will be provided. It is felt that the excellent spirit of the service which has characterised all the ranks of the territorial force during the recent difficult period, will enable them to take full advantage of the training, the bivouac scheme will provide, limited though the training must necessarily he.
