PARLIAMENTARY
THE HOUSE. (By Telegraph—Per tress A ssocwtion) WELLINGTON, October 16. • Mr Wilkinson said the Government had the taxation complex whereas what was required was the economy complex. He considered it should have gone to the country for an endorsement of its policy, remarking that it would have had some difficulty in obtaining such endorsement. Me-. Fletcher seconded the.,"ainemt~ ment and criticised the Government’s failure to give adequate consideration to the proposal that the State shotir.l instal a petrol refining plant. Private enterprise could not. undertake such a scheme, because it would be crushed out by importing concerns, but the State by fixing the price of petrol, could reap a profit from the business, and at the same time give employment io a large number of men. . The debate was proceeding when the House adjourned at 11-'.p.m. ’
