ROSS NEWS

(From our own Correspondent). A wedding that created considerable interest took place tit St. Paul’s Church, Ross, on Wednesday afternoon, when Evelina Maud \ lucent, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Vincenc of Ross, was united in tile holy bones of matrimony to John William Bergman, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Bergmam of Kakapotahi, South Westland. The Rev. E. Osinei’s was the officiating clergyman, and Miss Rita Thiele presided at the organ. The- bride, who was given, away by her father, wore a charming gown of parchment celanese made on classical lines, fully flared and ankle length, the veil was embioidered in pale pink with true lovers knots and was held in place by a circlet of orange blossoms. She carried a lovely bouquet of pale pink camelias, clematis, freesias and maiden hair term. The bride wa s attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Alma Vincent, who wore a dainty primrose brocaded silk frock, flares falling from a pointed bodice, and carried a beautiful bouquet , of primroses and daisies in two shades. • Sue wore a mop cap of tulle, j The other bridesmaid, .Miss Myrtle [Bergman, wore a pretty frock ot pink I brocaded sink, ankle length, al.-o tulle mop cap to tone, her bouquet was of pale pink primroses, stock and maiden- ' hair fern. j Mr H. After the wedding ceremony a large number of friends were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents where the usual toasts were propo'cd and duly honoured. The happ • couple left per car later in the afternoon for north where a short honeymoon will Ive spent. The bride’s travelling dress was of electric blue, silk and tweed coat and hat to tone.
