A week-end event exciting comment was Mr Henderson's visit to Mr Lloyd George, at the hitter’s invitation. The Sunday .papers come to the conclusion that lilr Lloyd George has decided to break away, from the Liberals and make some arrangement with Labour. POSSIBLE ALLIANCE. LONDON, October 11. The newspapers are of the opinion that Mr Henderson’s visit to Mr Lloyd George is very significant, leading to a new anti-Nationalist pact The “Sunday Times” says the visit strongly supports the suggestion that Socialists and Lloyd George Liberals are contemplating an alliance. The paper points out that the Socialists are not opposing Mr Lloyd George, or Mr Megan Lloyd George.
CHURCHILL’S ELECTION ADDRESS. {.Received this day at noon.) LONDON, October 11. Hon. \V. Churchill, who is contesting the Epping seat in support of the National Government, in an election act dress welcomed the men of goodwill from other parties and adds: —“When the crisis came the best Labourites stood to their posts, but tbe remainder basely deserted their duty and ran off to make party capital from the measures taken to the disaster they caused.
EDGAR WALLACE AND LLOYD GEORGE. LONDON, October 11. Edgar Wallace telegraphed to Lloyd George: —“1 am fighting Blackpool as a plain Lloyd George Liberal and I am going to win it from the food traders. I feel nobody is more competent to expose this National confidence tiick, which is gulling the country, than one who has made a study of this form of crime.” Lloyd George gratefully replying sa id : —“There was never a time when Liberalism stood more in need of fighting ran not funks.’*
