LONDON POLICE DISMISSALS
Five more London police constables were sentenced recently 'to be dismissed from the force. The announcement was made in the following terms: “Five police constables of C division have to-day been found -guilty by a disciplinary board of accepting money from tradesmen, and dismissed. The cases must still, however, lie regarded as sub jiulice, as the constables have appealed to the commissioner against the decision of the board.” Originally 24 officers were suspended. As the result of an earlier sitting of the hoard an inspector and a police constable were sentenced to dismissal and appeal ed to the Home Secretary again*t the decision. In the House of Commons Mr 11. Day, (Labour. Southwark) was informed that 109 officers of the Metropolitain Police district bad suspended dnriivi the last 12 months.
