* INTEREST INCREASING. DEMAND FOR PRODUCE. WELLINGTON, October 2. He remarked that the building of Wellington’s floating dock and the long tow it was undergoing to New Zen lain, had created widespread interest at Home and were doing a good deal to put New Zealand on the map. In regard to things in general lie had been surprised to find how widespread ws the supply of New Zealand produce, not only in Britain, hut also on the Continent. He “particularly ' mentioned apples in Germany, where he was told they would take as many as they could get. Another thing that had greatly struck him was the vogue of tramping, which was general, and in Germany had assumed a semi-military character.
