SELF HELP

NEW SYSTEM OF PURCHASING. At Dee’s Self Help Sendee, Weld Street, next to Turner’s fruitshop, will be opened on Saturday a new system to the town of purchasing groceries and other goods. It is arranged on a new American system and is on a,n entirely cash basis.

Entering by the front door, a turnstile guides the buyer into the shop where a handbag is placed at disposal and the purchaser is enabled to walk round the shop where the whole of the goods are in the shelves marked up in plain figures, placing in their basket their requirements. For the purpose a fine cash register has been installed that simplifies the cashier’s work, preventing any mistakes, and supplying totals of each set of purchases and the totals for the

day. Dee’s Self Help Service is a local .institution and the endeavour l is being made to meet the times. The prices are at bedrock and customers can walk in and'"inspect prices marked on every article in the shop, at prices that are claimed to be unbeatable.

The shop is at present open but business will not be in full swing until Saturday when a full display will be made, and every preparation completed for a rush of business, ;'
