ASHBURTON CLUB BAR

NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. ASHBURTON, September 29. No further developments have taken place in connection with the instructions received early this month by the Ashburton Club and M.S.A. from the Minister of Internal Affairs to discontinue the sale of liquor over the club bar. A visit was paid by Senior-Sergeant-Martin to the cljuh yesterday afternoon. but whether it was in connection with his ordinary duties as inspector of chartered clubs or in view of projected proceedings is not certain. The matter has naturally been arousing considerable interest amongst members of the dull, which has .definitely (budded to continue and defend any action that may h e taken to deprive members of their present privilege.
