The “Labour Daily” says; “ The serious position of the mine workers in .New Zealand was the main subject discussed at the meeting ol the Central Council of the Miners’ Federation. It was decided that Mr D. Miller, Councillor from the Northern Districts, should visit the Dominion, and attend the annual meeting ol the National Council of the United Mine Workers' Union on October 16. 'His stay in New Zealand will he fully occupied in securing information ot the recent serious disputes in which miners yre concerned.”
SUSPENDED BANK
SYDNEY. September 30
Resolutions providing lor the winding up of the Primary Producers' Rank of Australia, Limited, which suspended payment on August 24th, were carried at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
The Deputy Chairman of Directors (Mr lirett), said that when the Directors were iorccd to suspend payment, the position of the hank was that deposits ' were £1.215,000, advances £1,559.000, and liquid assets £105,000. It was quite obvious that the bank had no alternative but to stop payment.
