At its meeting the Hawera Brandi of the Labour Party, passed a resolution as follows: —"That this Branch views with apprehension the appointment of members of the legislative Council to the responsible position of Minister of Education, and would draw the attention of the electors to the dangerous principle involved in allowing persons other than those elected by the people to hold Ministerial positions.”
