NURSES’ ASSOCIATION.

WELLINGTON, September 30

The annual conference of the New Zealand Nurses’ Association was opened to-day by Mr Young (Minister of Health), who said he trusted his second term in the important office ot Health would be happy. He felt it would be because it would be Iris endeavour to co-operate in every way with the two associations, represented at the conference, the Hospital Matrons’ Association and the Trained Nurses’ Association, Their interests were interwoven, and lie was sure their deliberations would help materially in thd difficult times we were passing through. He spoke eulogistically ot the fine work ddne by nurses on the occasion of the Hawke’s Bay earthquake. Dr. Watt, Director-General of Health, also spoke.
