BAGHDAD, September 29
Kingsford Smith armed here at 5.30 o dock this afternoon. Me refilled with petrol and then left for A.eppo twenty minutes later, hoping to arrive there before midnight.
Smith’s journey from Task to Aleppo bristled with difficulties owing t.> sandstorms and head winds. He was forced to land at Bushire, where he remedied the oil trouble in his plane.
The airman who was very tired, was cheered as he took off for liis night’s journey of five hund.ed nii.es across the desert, which, however should present no difficulties, as it is moonlight and the wind has decreased . BASRA, September 30.
Kingsford f Smith, on his way to Aleppo, encountered a heavy sandstorm. He is expected to land at Shaibn.
SYDNEY, September 30
Private advice here states that Kingsford Smith left Aleppo at four o’clock in the morning for Rome.
MACHINE OVERHAUL
(Received this day at 9.25 a.m. LONDON, September SO. Kingsford Smith cabled the Heston aerodrome arranging to overhaul nts machine returning it in good flying order within thirty-six hours of his arrival.
