ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 30. There was an improvement in mutton and beef, but not in pork. There was a medium yarding of beef. The market opened briskly with a distinct increase in values, especially for well finished stuff. Best heavy bullocks sold up to £ls 2s 6d, heavy £l2 5s to £l3 15s, prime £lO 15s to £ll 7s fid, medium £7 to £8 10s, best heifers to £l2 12s fid, prime £7 15 to £9 los, medium £0 12s 6d to £7 15s, light from £5 7s 6d. Best heavy cows sold to £l2 7s fid, prime £7 15s to £8 15s, medium £4 12s fid to £5 12s, inferior from £3 12s 6cT;
There was a very small t varding of store sheep. Competition was keen. Recent values were more than maintained.
There was a small yarding of fat sheep, the bulk comprising unfinished lots. Competition was keen at an advance up to 2s 6d per head on recent rates. Best heavy wethers sold up to 25s 4d, prime heavy 20s to 2ls fid, prime 18s to 19s fid, medium lfis to 17s fid, light from 13s. Best heavy lin.es sold to 22s 4d, prime heavy 19s to 20s fid, prime 17s to 18s fid, medium los to 16s fid, light from 10s. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs. Prices showed an easing tendency, especially for heavyweights. Porkers sold 35s to 40s, best to 455; choppers 42s fid to £5 3s fid; baconers 48/to 54s fid, heavier 57s fid to £3 ss, prime heavy to £3 12s fid. There was a large yarding of store pigs. The market was considerably easier.
