LAUNCH AFIRE
IN HAURAKI GULF. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 29. The forty foot launch Miuriwai, owned by Winstone Limited, and used for towfng purposes caught fire in Hauraki Gulf early this morning, and was a bandoned by . her crew- -of -riwop whoreached Waimera in a dinghy this afternoon, after a desperate battle with heavy seas, Another launch sighted tho burning vessel after she had been abandoned, and attempted to quell the flames. They failed to do so but managed to tow the craft to Kawau Island, With the aid" of shore appliances the fire was then extinguished after much damage had been done to the launch.
