SEEK STATE SUBSIDY. (by Teleyruph —Per tress Association) WELLINGTON, Kept. 29. A deputation representing fertiliser companies to-day interviewed the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture. The proceedings were private. It is understood that a scheme was submitted to the, Government which involved the payment of a State’ subsidy sufficient in amount to enable tlm companies to make supplies available to farmers at a reduction about 26 per cent on the companies present prices. It is reported that the Department of Agriculture Inis prepared proposals designed to meet the position. Jhe whole question is under Cabinet consideration. Definite developments of interest to the primary producers are expected.
