DOCTOR HIT ON HEAD

PURSUIT OF A BURGLAR. NEW PLYMOUTH, September 27. At live o’clock this morning Dr. W. R. Wade heard a sound in a room. Ho saw’a man leaving, and gave chase. Finally he pinned the man against a tree in the garden, hut was hit on the back of the head with a stone. He lost his grip, and the man escaped. Tlie police were summoned, but found no trace of the man. Only a bunch of keys was missing. Dr Wade was not seriously injured.

Another house was also entered and some effects were taken.
