WOOLLEN TRADE

ACTIVITY IN SOUTH

MILLS WORKING OVERTIME.

DUNEDIN, September 17. More than one Dunedin manufacturing firm reports a healthy indication of the early return to more prosperous times. At present the Roslyn Woollen Mills are .working overtime and there is an increased demand for goods. This is partly due to a. similar activity in the firm’s costume factory. In some factories extra hands are being employed. The retiring president of the Manufacturers’ Association, at the annual meeting last evening, struck an optimistic note. "I believe we have touched the bottom of the depression,” he said, “and very soon we shall see business improving.”
