The match against Cahn’s eleven was drawn. Steady batting by Gunn gave Cahn’s a first inning’s lead. The veteran Nott’s batsman, now ag cl 55, gave a sterling display. He scored a majority of h s runs in front of the wicket and was undefeated after 183 minutes. He hit thirteen fours. Blunt had a successful bowling patch before lunch, taking two wickets. Immediately after lunch Robins hit' his wicket in attempting a late cut. Matheson frequently bowbd well, but Gunn played steadily. Vivian had 20 overs and Allcott 18, and kept the batsmen quiet. New Zealand batted for 70 minutes. Vivian and James scored 64 in the first half hour. HAVING A HOLIDAY.
