MYSTERY MOTOR CAR
RUNS on charcoal gas. RUSSIAN INVENTION. MOSCOW, August 31. Strict secrecy is being observed concerning the trials of a “mystery motorear” invented by Professor Nayniov, ol Leningrad, which uses charcoal gas. It is claimed that the car travelled 830 miles and used only four gallons of petrol and 4291 b of charcoal, compared with 46 gallons of petrol used by an ordinary motor-car which accompanied if 011 fhe journey. The use of charcoal gas tor motorcars is not a new invention. Extensive tests have been made in France, but owing to the weight of the mechanisn used for producing the gas, it has only proved effective on heavy commercial vehicles.
