'The case is proceeding in the Magis-‘ trate’s Court to-day in which Frank Hill Wheelbouse Simpson is charged ’WftTT negligently driving a motor car at Lower Hutt, thereby causing she death of Norman Kjar. - The* accident occurred on August 2, It is alleged by policq witnesses that defendant’s car swerved to the wrong side of the road just b:fcre striking the on coming motor cycle. GRIBBIN CASE. CHRISTCHURCH, September 10. In the case in which Gribbin was charged evidence was given by painters that Gribbin had offered them brushes for sale, and that they had bought brushes from him. An employee of Guthrie Brown and Co., said these brushes were identical with those held in stock by the firm. Charles C. Warner, Superintendent of the Christchurch Fire Brigade, gave evidence of outbreaks in the warehouse which tl.e Brigade quelled. He declared it was impossible that the fires could have been started spontaneously. The charge of arson was dismissed. Gribbin pleaded not guilty to creaking and entering, and was committed or trial on bail of £2OO, with a surety of £2OO.
