U.S.A. SUPPORT
FOR ITALIAN PROPOSAL. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, September 10. The United States Government is sympathetic towards th© Italian Foreign Minister, Signor Grandi’s proposal at Geneva, for an armament holiday, according to authoritative information obtained here; but the United States will not take any definite stand in reference thereto at the, present time. The American Government is thoroughly lriendlv towards Signor Grandi’s conception, and is prepared to exercise its influence on behalf of any movement which will aid the prospects of the Disarmament Conference, but America perfers for the present, that the situation surrounding the forthcoming Disarmament Conference shall be kept fluid. MEXICO JOINS LEAGUE. MEXICO CITY, September 9. The Mexican Senate,‘on Wednesday, unanimously ratified Mexico’s acceptance of an invitation to join the League of Nations.
