DOCTOR’S CLAIM
BOY’S LIFE (RESTORED. [United Presß Association.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright]. LONDON, September 10. Doctor MacPherson, the Superintendent of 'St. Mary’s (Hospital, at Portsmouth, has claimed at the inquest on a seven-year-old boy named Edward Cook, that Cook was actually dead for forty minutes, and that he was then brought to life, and lived for 12-J- hours longer. Dr MacPherson stated that Cook’s breathing, ceased when he was under the anaesthetic. Whereupon he (Dr MacPherson) opened the walls of the boy’s abdomen, and massaged the heart, causing .it to repulsate, and thus promoting regular breathing. This enabled the removal of Cook to a ward, where he recovered sufficiently to HcOgniße Ills mother, but later lie died. ;-w* '*•■-- -■»
