THOUGHTS OF THE TIMES.
APPRECIATION OF SERVICE. A situation has arisen in the Mother Country which will expose the nation to a. most searching test to its courage and morale. Mr MacDonald and his Labour colleagues who have remained loyal will feel most keenly being the object of the hostility of men with whom they had been associated for long years. But some consolation will be derived from the fact that the British people are not unmindful of faithful service, and already there are signs, small undoubtedly, but significant, that men of the standing of Mr MacDonald and Mr Thomas still have supporters among those Jhey have served so long and so faithfully. —Christchurch Times.
